Souvenirs 02:40
i think i'll go on a trip bring a camera and a cigar box and fill it up with polaroids and i'll look like such a tourist, buying souvenirs for all my friends i'll show you everything you'll miss, i'll show you everything because i know that you're going away and i know that you're going to stay i used to think it was enough to wish for something but you've got to want it enough to take it and you've got to need it enough to keep it safe away from harm and if you say that it's okay then i will steal you away
2.
we only take pictures of buildings falling down there's comfort in failures that are not our own and we try to change things and rearrange but once in awhile we just stay the same you didn't want to and it all feels so small like old movies that you saw made you so scared when you were young you were so scared when you were young but now you're not i try so hard to never throw anything away so i'm stuck with these habits i never tried to make i don't talk to strangers, i have nothing to say and it makes me so nervous when they look my way i don't want them to and it all feels so small like old movies that you saw made you so scared when you were young you were so scared when you were young but now you're not

Sideways 02:17
you notice i'm not making sense, you notice i'm just a little tense today and all last week, you tried but i'm not speaking so you flicker through a magazine, ignoring what you said to me the goldfish died 'cause it was never fed, the flowers withered in their bed i made a story in my head, wanted to know just what it meant so i explained it all to you, the ending's trash i always knew the tv's on way too loud and the protagonist will not back down i wonder which plans will last, but the smoke alarm won't let me ask he always said what we had to do, he always said what we have to lose you want to know why, i just want to know how

i wish you'd move to new jersey it's not as bad as they say it's not as bad as you think i wish i stayed in old san juan see the sun set a few more times feel your head leaning against mine it's such a nightmare until then i meant to tell you, had this weird dream about you in someplace we've never been running from someone or something and i couldn't move my legs and i couldn't read your lips you disappearing from view i couldn't catch up to you it's such a nightmare until then
5.
can't help but want more, you love like a see saw first you're down and then you're up now you're here but then you're not just make up your mind straighten your heart and hang it in one place our eyes are lying different ways i told you, i told you, i told you but you said you can't believe we can't start from a blank page any more new loves are scabs for old scars there's no blank page anymore should have thought of that before straighten your heart and hang it in one place our eyes are lieing different ways.
6.
i'd like to build a rocket ship to saturn i'd like some company, would you come with me? it will take a long time, so we'll bring some books to read i've got this one mystery about diamonds and murder and who's guilty i found out but i don't know if you know we'll go far caught in comets.
7.
the sun is in my eyes i didn't pay attention to the last thing you said it's not worth repeating bet you can't guess how many fingers are behind my back if any one of us has something to say say it now 'cause once it's over it's gone and there's no take backs how much farther do we have to go? i think i get the point but it's lost the effect bet you can't guess how many fingers are behind my back nobody's saying it but everyone's thinking it it always feels different out on the side lines but it's not a secret i don't plan to keep it we're so afraid of what everyone makes of it what it all means, i don't care if you leave just don't forget to wave goodbye.
8.
saturday morning cartoons i'd sit and watch them with you pull the cushions off the couch build a fort that lasts all morning and when the afternoon comes, we're still in our pajamas tie a blanket around our necks did we really think we could fly? but don't touch the ground it's made of lava don't touch the ground or you'll die goodnight, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite you either.
9.
Time Machine 05:42
it's just like a movie after the credits end i have all these questions inside my head like if i had a time machine, where would i land? i'd drift through the centuries and end up in old japan or maybe i could visit 1923, i'd dress in all the fashions so no one notices me and if it gets boring, or i say something wrong i'll go back a few decades and start from square one it's so amazing how easy it is to run away or just to imagine your life in different ways but some things are important and that shouldn't change there's no magic lamp when i don't get my way
10.
the rain moved in waves on the window which the lights turned into stained glass you lean forward and peek through keep an eye on dotted lines yellow and white and you said, "the moon's half dead." and i could not help but agree as we passed all the exits we'd never take those towns don't have a hold on me yet where are those things from my dreams? where are those things, please make them exist for me we're so cliche in our own way trying to be something great and i tried to remember the thing i forgot to do but you answered while it was still on the tip of my tongue no i don't mind giving you credit this time but you know i'd rather be right as we laughed at things we shouldn't laugh at trying not to fall asleep at night where are those things from my dreams? where are those things, please make them exist for me 'cause if i had the means, they couldn't stop me and we could leave without a peep.
